CAPture Telemetry is a value-priced PC-based solution based on industry- standards, and featuring a familiar Windows based user-interface. |
| |
| The benefits of this solution are: |
Flexibility: Support for different types of platforms (PCI, PXI) offers the user a variety of test-bed and control options, through the same software interface. |
Configurability: The powerful software component allows the user a finer level of granularity over parameters such as Clock-rates, Number of Words, Number of Frames, Word Length, and Frame Synchronisation Pattern (FSP) Word Length. |
Portability: Being compact in package, the hardware and software components can be carried to any location. |

Captronic’s PCM Commutator/ Decommutator solution, CAPture Telemetry, is specifically designed for transmitting/ receiving PCM telemetry data. The reconfigurable I/O hardware uses an FPGA module operating on a 40 MHz clock and providing high accuracy bit encoding over the entire frequency range of CAPture Telemetry. The FPGA module used has multiple digital lines, so the same stream can be generated on multiple channels.
The data to be transmitted is stored in a Current Value Table (CVT) on the FPGA memory. The CVT contents can be changed on the fly by the user; using either the GUI provided through the software module, or programmatically. The ability to change the CVT table programmatically ensures that other applications (e.g. data acquisition applications) can directly read/write data to the software.
The GUI provided with CAPture Telemetry is user-friendly. The user can save configured PCM formats to disk for later use. The software has provision for real time display of the transmitted stream. The user can also enable or disable the stream on the fly.
CAPture Telemetry is one in a suite of CAPture products, from Captronic Systems; the products targeting automated test requirements, and control and acquisition requirements, across a diversity of industries. |
